and personalized projects. Sessions range from 6-8 weeks long, meeting

Survey of Mold Making: Portraits of the Galaxy - $185.00
This class is a mold making class. Clay sculptures of faces in suns,
stars, moons, comets etc will be created and a fiberglass and
plaster mold will be constructed. The piece will be cast in cement
and then painted. This is a perfect medium for Christmas gifts as many
pieces can be cast in the molds just in time for the holidays. This
is a very fun process and requires more supplies (hence the higher
cost.)
String Fling - $150.00
Rope sculpture is a wild
and crazy medium and lends itself to many fun images. Armatures are built
out of wire first to plan the piece, and then different sizes of rope
and string are dipped in a special sculpting medium which allows the
rope to be plyable and sculptable. When the piece is dry the possibilities
for paint finishes are endless. Students may select any image to work
with.
Master Plaster - $165.00
This class explores the different
processes used to build a plaster sculpture, from construction of an
armature out of wire and wood , to modeling in wet plaster and sculpting
in hard plaster. Hand and power tools will be used to sculpt a human
figure, animal, or other object.
Sculpting in Clay - $165.00
The ever popular portrait class
is a great class to begin with. Wire armatures are built and mounted
on plaster bases, and the portrait is sculpted in clay. These pieces
are sealed with a very strong sculpture medium and then painted to resemble
a stone or metal. These can be either a self portrait or portrait of
another person. These turn out beautiful and really capture the essence
of the person.
It's a Relief! - $165.00
A relief sculpture is a flat three dimensional picture. Images are sculpted
onto a flat slab of clay or built up with wire, paper and covered with
plaster. Students may select to use clay or plaster.
Oil Painting - $185.00, all supplies included ($125.00
with own supplies)
For the beginning painter, this class offers individual instruction, including
basic composition mapping, color theory and paint application for creating one
still life and one landscape. There will be 6 classes, 2 1/2 hours long. For
the advanced painter, the studio offers a place to improve techniques and continue
creating. Each student is worked with on an individual basis. |
